See What We Have Been up to Lately

As opposed to the screen-printing process, which requires several steps to turn your design into a reproducible printing format, DTG printing (direct to garment) takes artwork right from the computer screen to the garment. The simplicity of that process allows us to print practically any design with no set up.

Our DTG T Shirt Printing Process:

  • First, we carefully review your artwork to make sure that it will turn out as beautifully as possible. If anything looks off, we’ll get in touch and help you tweak your design.

  • Next, we’ll optimize and enhance the image so that everything you love about the original art comes through in the print.

  • Then, the print area of the garment will be treated with a special solution that helps the ink show up on darkly colored fabric.

  • The DTG printing process comes next – the garment printer will first lay down a white base coat before reproducing the color image.

  • To set and seal the design, the garment is dried with high heat before being packed and shipped off to you.

  • Please note that DTG printed garments should be washed before wearing the first time and always washed inside-out in cold water to help maintain the vibrancy of the design.

If you’d like to discuss more about our direct to garment printing process or a special project you have in mind, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 406-442-6442 or email us at bigskyprintwear@hotmail.com

Our Embroidery Service Process:

  • We always start by reviewing your artwork to make sure that it will work well with the embroidery service you’ve chosen.

  • Next, your design will be translated into a digital sewing pattern.

  • Before applying any embroidery to your actual items, we’ll do a sample sew-out to confirm that everything is perfect before moving forward.

  • Here’s where the magic happens – your garments get secured in place and the design is embroidered onto each piece by our top-of-the-line, automated embroidery machines. They will execute each stitch with precision and consistency across all the pieces in your order.

  • Finally, any extra backing gets trimmed off, folded, and packed up professionally according to size.

Why Use Transfer Printing?

Once in a while, a project comes along that’s too complicated for embroidery and has too many colors for screen printing, but it’s just right for heat transfer printing. While transfer printing may not be as popular as it once was, there’s still a special place for it.

In fact, we’re proud to offer a wide range of printing options that include the old standby ways as well as the newest, most cutting-edge methods. We’ve been in this business long enough (37+ years) to know that some of the old ways are still the best ways. And that couldn’t be truer than with heat transfers.

Heat Transfer Printing Works Great On Apparel:

This is an ideal method for items like bags, jackets and sweatshirts, which don’t need to be as breathable as a t-shirt. Your design will come across accurately and beautifully in a way that works well for your chosen garment.

When it comes to choosing the right printing method for your project, we’ll always guide you and provide our expert opinion.

We will never create or send you anything that we’re not 100% proud of. So, if that means asking you to consider a different printing method, so be it. Our only goal is to produce beautiful work that you’ll love, and we’ll use every tool available to us to make that happen.

Screen Printing

Spread ink color on the screen. Once the ink has been spread, the negative space will print the design on the fabric to transfer ink on to a shirt or item.

Why Vinyl?  Here’s Our Process:

Vinyl has come a long way from the old name and number on the back of jerseys.  We have options that are glittery, sparkly, neon, even holographs.  There are lots of colors and ways to put your design on polyester, polycotton blends, and other materials that screen printing or embroidery wouldn’t work on.

Make your design pop and stand out and be different than a standard one-color screen print.

Give us a call at 406-442-6442 or stop by and we’ll guide you to the best printing possible, no matter the application.  Or better yet, stop by our shop.   Then you can touch, see, and feel the different materials.  Whether you need one shirt or 1000+, we’ll take care of you.
